The Best Way to Fly To Europe

The Best Way to Fly To Europe

The question I get asked most often is, "What is the least expensive way to fly to Europe?". While there may be other opinions on this question, I have found that the most inexpensive way, is to fly into Dublin. There are a few reasons why this is the best/least expensive way to fly to Europe.

First of all, Ireland does a great job of incentivizing people to visit, one of the ways they do this is by making it very cheap for airlines to fly into Dublin Airport. Secondly, Dublin is a major international hub offering flights all over Europe. Third and possibly most important, Dublin airport is the central hub for Ryanair which offers the lowest prices on flights all over Europe.

So in a simple summary if you are looking for a cheap flight to somewhere in Europe follow these steps.

1. Book a flight to Dublin ( For recommendations on how to find flights to Dublin check out my article on how to search for flights effectively)

2. Look for Ryanair flights from Dublin to your European destination.

3. Be decisive and book early.

Ryanair does not offer flights everyday to every location they fly to which could create a situation where you either have to make sure your flight into Dublin is on the same day that Ryanair is flying out, or a layover in Dublin for a few days. I highly recommend the latter. Firstly, trying to make international connections when everything is on time is hard enough. One delayed flight and your whole trip can become derailed quickly. Which is why I recommend the layover option.

A few nights in Dublin is well worth it and as luck would have it, inexpensive. Dublin airport offers cheap and easy to use bus rides all over the city and accommodations are plentiful. There are many nice hotels and i you really want to save your money the hostels in Dublin are some of the best in Europe. (For more information on staying in Dublin check out my Dublin article!)
